The Euphonix StudioHub high-performance MADI router solution brings a new level of quality, and affordability to digital audio.
The 612 is a 12x12 MADI router (max of 768 x 768 time slots) in a compact 2U rugged rack mount package for integration with facility routers. Euphonix manufactures a wide variety of MADI compatible analog and digital interface converters for connecting to the StudioHub router.
Audio Facility MADI Router
What is MADI?
MADI is used by several console manufacturers, including Euphonix, Sony and AMS/Neve,
as an efficient way to transport up to 64 channels of 16, 20 or 24-bit digital audio at a
sample rate of up to 48 kHz (up to 32 channels at 96KHz) on a single coax cable. Cable
lengths up to 100m are supported - more using fiber (see FiberTran). AES-10 MADI is an AES standard.
Applications: For a large single room, or situations where patching and sharing sources and destinations between multiple rooms is required, the scaleable Euphonix Audio Facility MADI Router provides a neat and affordable solution.
The Audio Facility MADI Routing System solves one of the major problems in any large audio facility - connecting large numbers of analog and digital sources, with different formats and sample rates, together without the need for a patchbay. And the simplicity of MADI reduces cabling costs.
StudioHub: The SH624 StudioHub can handle up to 24 MADI inputs and outputs (at 48KHz 24-bit, that is 1,536 x 1,536 crosspoints). The system opposite uses only 328x328 allowing room to expand in future. The StudioHub is supplied with a stand-alone PC program for making patches between the individual signal connections.
Configuration Setups store what MADI devices are connected to the StudioHub and which ports they are connected to. Each MADI port can be used as a 64 channel, or a 32 channel digital connection (at 24-bit, 96khz, max number of channels is 32), Some Euphonix I/O modules only support up to 56 channels per MADI.
Patch Setups store settings for the whole patch system allowing frequently used patch settings to be recalled. Any individual source may be patched to any indivdual destination. A source may be patched to multiple destinations.
FiberTran: The MADI lines shown in red represent single coax cables which can be run up to 100 meters. For extra long MADI cable runs the FT730 FiberTran system can extend the run up to 1,000 meters.
